Zaowang was Kitchen God. Invented fire, cared for the house morals, and protected the family home. Tradition says that Zaowang left house on the 23rd day of the last month of the year. Went to heaven to report on the behavior of the family.
The family of course, did every thing possible to obtain a favorable report from the Kitchen God.
